AvenHexicon – Driving innovation in Italy’s offshore wind sector
AvenHexicon is at the forefront of offshore wind energy development in Italy, with a mission to establish the country’s first floating offshore wind farms. By leading this pioneering effort, we aim to significantly enhance Italy’s capacity for clean, renewable energy sourced from the powerful, untapped winds along its coastline.

Formed in 2021 as a joint venture between the Swedish company Hexicon AB and Italian renewable energy developer and investor Avapa Energy S.r.l., AvenHexicon focuses on the development of floating offshore wind farms. With Italy’s increasing demand for sustainable energy and the ideal wind conditions off its coasts, floating offshore wind represents a crucial step forward in meeting the nation's clean energy goals.
The joint venture represents the union of two complementary and synergistic forces, with Avapa Energy leading the development and Hexicon spearheading the technical aspects, with the final target to transfer technology and expertise to improve and expand local capabilities.
Today, AvenHexicon is promoting and developing five floating projects located off the coasts of Sardinia, and Puglia. Each of these projects has received preliminary maritime concessions from the Italian government. These efforts mark a significant stride in the transition toward renewable energy in Italy.

AvenHexicon is a joint venture between the Swedish company Hexicon AB and Italian renewable energy investor Avapa Energy S.r.l.

Hexicon is both an early developer of floating offshore wind projects and a technology provider with more than 15 years of experience in the industry.
Originating from Swedish industrial tradition, Hexicon is taking a first-mover position to develop floating wind in global markets. Its active projects are in different stages and spread out worldwide, in areas where floating offshore wind is sometimes the only sustainable alternative.
Hexicon is also developing its own patented floating wind technology, TwinWind™. The platform features dual turbines, doubling energy production per sea area. It also makes wind power accessible in deeper waters with unlimited energy potential, where turbines are unnoticeable from land.
